This handmade Peruvian shawl is made by the people from the Andes mountains using alpaca wool. Alpaca wool blankets are used during the rituals surrounding the Pachamama festival, which is celebrated deep in these mountains. This festival celebrates the worshipping of Pachamama, also known as the spirit of ‘Mother Earth’. She is honoured for all the good in the world and is a symbol of protection.
The shawl’s composition is 55% alpaca wool, 25% wool and 20% acrylic.
The shawl measures a total of 200cm x 100cm. You will receive the shawl with a cotton wrap, which has the Pachamama story printed on it.
